Greece and Feta Cheese

The name Feta is of Greek origin, and the European Court has given Greece rights to the name for the cheese. It is now illegal to call any cheese made outside of Greece, Feta. This decision has angered such countries as Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. How does this link to what we have discussing in class?

The EU is doing this with all sorts of products. And there have been disputes between winemakers in California and France about "Champagne." Some US winemakers call it "sparkling wine" instead, or speak of "method" instead.
