I think that it is interesting to note that when designing a webpage, simplicity is favored by some people. There are some good reasons for this which include: ease of use, scanability, lower cost, and less time loading and designing. This is a point I have been trying to make in my assignment on style, but apparently this has nothing to do with style. But if your website is written in a way that is scannable, isn't that a kind of style? Sometimes more is less. As the section on simplicity in web design from scratch indicates sometimes less is more. Its not always about what you should add to a website, but often its what you should elliminate that is important.

I agree that the ideas of style and design are hard to differentiate between. Someone else said this on his or her blog as well and Professor Dilger said we were going to talk about it more this coming week. It should be interesting. Scanability strikes me to have more to do with ease of use than anthing else, but I think you could make a rather convincing argument for your point as well.
